With Special Guest: Patrick Mulcahey

World Famous Leatherman,
Lifestyle Educator, Psychotherapist & Author of The "TIes That Bind" and "SlaveCraft",

Guy Baldwin, M.S.

Los Angeles’ pioneering psychotherapist, author and activist, Guy Baldwin, has worked clinically with erotically uncommon clients for the last 30 years. He has also traveled the U.S. and Canada extensively to present a wide array of workshops and seminars to BDSM audiences and health care professionals alike.

Baldwin has delivered keynote addresses for the International Leather Leadership Conference, the International Masters and slaves Weekend, the Living in Leather convention of the National Leather Association, South Plains Leatherfest, the Austin Bash, and the Dominion Gathering, to name only a few.

Although the list of his published work is a long one, he is perhaps best known for his essays in Drummer magazine, many of which can be found in his 1993 book, Ties That Bind. His most recent book, SlaveCraft, now in its fourth printing, has offered us a view into the inner dynamics of erotic servitude that has been compelling and controversial.

In 1989, judges chose Guy to serve as the second Mr. National Leather Association, and the 11th International Mr. Leather, concurrently, the only person ever to do so. Baldwin was awarded both the Pantheon and Dominion Lifetime Achievement Awards.

In 2000, the Leather Archives and Museum identified the twenty people whose service to the Leather Community has been the most significant in the 20th Century and named each of them, Centurion – Guy Baldwin, among them.

In 2004, the Society of Janus established its Hall Of Fame – Baldwin was among the first inductees. He received the first Master/slave Heritage Award at the Master/slave Conference 2009.

In 2008, and for only the third time in its 30 year history, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force honored Guy with its Leather Leadership Award.

In 2009, Guy was honored with the Leather SINS President's Award to honor his outstanding committment to the Leather Community.

SCENE DYNAMICS: (Course overview)

Guy will deconstruct and discuss the basic elements of a successful, consensual SM scene in a step-by-step way, and talk about how they fit together to improve good outcomes in scene work.

It is understood that the mind is our biggest sex organ, so it stands to reason that it is the most vulnerable site for injuries.

Guy talks about unwanted emotional experiences in consensual BDSM scenes and explores ways to help avoid them and manage them when they happen

Baldwin discusses a range of techniques that can be deployed to dominate, manipulate, cultivate and even to disable the defenses of those we work with in BDSM/DS type scenes.

ASK AN ELDER: (Course overview)

Guy has been "in the Scene" steadily for over 40 years and was heavily involved in the formative years of the Leathersex scene as we now know it. As such, he is a treasure trove of information of historical information about The Old Guard, early organizations, various erotic styles, the Master/slave experience, political activism, and other issues too numerous to mention here.

This seminar will give those who attend the chance to pick Guy's brains on any related topic of interest.

Special Guest Presenter: Patrick Mulcahey

Patrick Mulcahey has been playing around with rope, men, pain, trust and power for 35 years.

He has presented on M/s, leather and SM topics for the Leatherman's Discussion Group, the Society of Janus, Leather Alley at S.F. Pride, the Sacramento Valley Leathercorps, and the Master-slave Conference in D.C. He is a proud member of the 15 Association, MAsT and Janus.

He lives in San Francisco with his slave patrick, and may be better known to FetLife members as "MrEasy."

Masters: You've got the boots. The slave is collared. She's got her orders. How come it's not happening? Why's she so surly?

slaves: You've got your slave heart. You know your protocols. You can kneel on rice all day long. How come Master doesn't seem to appreciate anything you do?

You come together to discuss it and without warning you're looking at the end of everything. How did that happen? How do you get back? Is there a way back?

Nothing's more rewarding than the D/s - M/s relationship, and nothing more maddening than the pitfalls along the way: when somebody lies; when somebody's sick; when a scene goes terribly wrong; when the household is uprooted, or enlarged; when Master can't seem to be bothered; when slave says No (or worse).

Join us for a discussion of my relationship disasters and yours, and together we'll look at practical strategies for setting ourselves right again - when it can be done. Alas, sometimes the ship sinks. Since pain is perhaps the greatest teacher, we'll also look at mistakes we've learned from, and learned how not to repeat.

Saturday Lunch Menu: A hot catered lunch will be delivered to the SINS Center consisting of a 1/2 Roasted Rotisserie Chicken, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Hot Buttered Corn on the Cobb, Creamy Cole Slaw and Fresh Baked Garlic Bread.
